How To Repair iPhone 6S Home Button

The home button is the only button on the iPhone. It is the most frequently used button on the iPhone, and it is also the most vulnerable button. In addition to unlocking, double-clicking out the multitasking panel, there are some very useful features in the iPhone phone's home button. However, the iPhone's Home button is used more often, and often encounters a malfunction. Recently many users of iPhone 6sd have reported that their home button has failed. What caused the iPhone home key to fail? How to fix it? In this article, our phonefix shop team will tell you the answer!

iPhone home button is not working reason

1. The use time is too long

We all know that the Home button is the most used button on the iPhone, and of course the most prone to problems. If you use it for too long, it is very likely that the home button will fail.

2. Home button shrapnel deformation

Disassemble the iPhone with the home button failed. It was found that there was no support under the metal piece, and there was some deformation, and the shrapnel on the screen was slightly deformed. Poor contact between the cable and the screen naturally fails.

iPhone home button  repair

1. Open any app and press and hold the power switch for a few seconds until the screen shows a step to slide off. Release the power button but do not slide it off. Press the Home button for a few seconds until the screen returns to the desktop. This has already re-adjusted the Home button in the system and can be used normally as before.

2. Turn on AssistiveTouch instead of Home button

Open the main interface and enter the "Settings" option.

After entering the setup options, the option "general" is used and then turned on.

Then go to "Accessibility".

At the bottom of the screen you will see an AssistiveTouch option and then select Open.

Then when you return to the main interface, you will find a square shadow on the screen. This is the AssistiveTouch function. You can use it instead of the home button.

Cleaning with alcohol

In some cases, and especially where iPhones are used in dusty or dirty environments, the Home button can become less sensitive to touch. To clean it properly, use alcohol and a cotton swab. Place a few drops of alcohol directly on the Home button and push it down with a cotton swab. Wait a few minutes, then check if the problem is solved.

Disassemble repair

First remove the two screws on the bottom with the prepared pentagonal screwdriver. Then use the suction cup to assist in disassembling the screen. It should be noted that there is adhesive fixing around the edge of the screen, which is first heated and softened. You can use a hot air gun to assist.

After softening, use a suction cup to make a gap, insert the cymbal into it and carefully open it around. It should be noted that if the rubber is hardened, it is heated and softened with a heat gun and then disassembled.

When the screen can be opened, it indicates that the adhesive has been removed. Carefully open the screen and you can see that the screen cable is attached to the motherboard with a metal bracket. And the metal cable holder is also fixed on the battery cable holder, so remove the metal bracket to disconnect the power supply.

After removing the screws, remove the metal bracket with tweezers and use a pry bar to pry open the power cable clamp. Since the battery is not very well taken out, the screen is also removed here. After the screws are removed, the metal brackets are removed with tweezers.

After removing the screen, we can see that the Home button is also fixed by the metal bracket, and the metal bracket is fixed by three screws. Remove the three screws and remove the metal bracket with tweezers. After removing the fixing bracket, carefully disconnect the home button cable and the card on the screen with a pry opening tool. Then carefully pull out the home button.

Remove the bad Home button and replace it with a new iPhone Home button, then attach a glue to the original cable to secure the cable.Use a pry  opening tool to press it from above to make it more stable. Finally, install the metal fixing bracket, screws, screen cable, battery and start the test. If there is no problem, start to install the iPhone.
