How To Fix iPhone 7 Home Button Not Working - Troubleshooting Tips

As we all know that the Home button is a very important part of the iPhone phones, but the iPhone home button return function failure is also a very common problem. This problem is usually related to the U10 chip on the home button cable. Now, we will resolve this iPhone 7 home button failure.

Test the iPhone 7, the fingerprint function is normal, but the iPhone home button return function doesn't work.

Use S2 screwdriver to remove the screws next to the iPhone lightning cable, use screen sucker to open the iPhone 7 screen, insert a plastic triangle pry tool to open the iPhone screen, and then remove the iPhone 7 display screen.


Next, put the iPhone 7 display screen on the CPB screen separator for heating, and then use tweezers to take off the iPhone home button flex cable.

Attach the iPhone 7 home button flex cable on the A22+ PCB fixture, apply some high resistance tape on to the area next to the U10 IC.

Now use QUICK 861DW hot air gun to heat the U10 IC, and then use tweezers to remove the glue around the IC, and then take off the U10 IC.

Apply some solder paste to the solder pad, and then use T12-11 soldering station to clean the solder pad.


Apply some green UV oil to the solder pad, and then use USB UV light to solidify it.

Apply some solder paste to the solder pad, place U10 IC in the right position, and then use Quick 861dw hot air rework station and tweezers to weld it.


Once down, install the iPhone home button flex cable back to the screen, and then assemble the iPhone 7.

Turn on the iPhone 7, get into the IOS system, and then test the iPhone home button function, now the iPhone 7 home button return function is working properly, the problem has been solved.
